The monthly Google System Release Notes primarily detail what’s new in Play services, Play Store, and Play system updates on Android phones and tablets, Wear OS, Google/Android TV, Auto, and PCs. Some features apply to end users, while others are targeted at developers.

Just because a feature appears in the changelog doesn’t mean it’s widely available. Some features take months to fully roll out.
Google announced Play Protect live threat detection at I/O 2024 to detect apps that “try to hide their actions.” On your device, the private computing core is used to detect suspicious app behavior.
If anything is found, Play Protect will send the app to Google for further review. Once the malicious nature is confirmed, you will be prompted to disable that software. This feature will be available for Pixel, Honor, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Sharp, Transsion, and other devices.
