Following a system firmware update in June (which updated the Switch to Version 18.1.0), Nintendo has now released another “no-reset” update.
This is detailed by dataminer ‘OatmealDome’ on social media, who again mentions how these updates “do not require a console restart and often contain minor changes.” This latest build has (You guessed itto) updated the “incorrect word list.” We won’t go into specifics, but it appears to block a “censorship bypass” of writing a certain word in Japanese.
The original 18.1. 0 update for Switch was tied to the discontinuation of X (formerly Twitter) integration and some features tied to games like Smash Bros. and the Splatoon series. The same update also included some “general system stability improvements” to improve the overall user experience.
